It's nearing the end of the school year, and my students are going CRAZY.
This happens every year,
they get bored
stir crazy
hard to entertain.

Our last theme was dinosaurs, which EVERY kid loves, but I knew I had to go out of the box this time. So I took to one of my FAVORITE social media sites, PINTEREST.
You should totally follow me, by the way. Or not. It's your choice. But you could click the link below, you know, if you wanna.
I found SO many awesome ideas for dinosaur sensory play, which is why I want to disclose that I'm not the originator of :
DINOSAUR SLIME,
DINOSAUR SENSORY ACTIVITIES,
DINOSAUR MUD,
or any other messy, dinosaur, goopy fun.
Ahem. Anywho...
ENTER what I call:
JURASSIC WORLD
(obviously not my original idea, but everyone knows this movie, so it was cool, OKAY)
(Plus, my little kids loved it.)

"Butter Slime"
"What in the world is butter slime?!" you ask?
Well, if you've been living under a rock for the past year, a slime craze has literally taken over the planet.
People across the globe are opening their own "Slime Shops" online and selling many varieties of this ooey gooey fun and shipping it all over.
This is literally so crazy to me.
"Butter Slime" is just one of many varieties of slime and is also one of the MOST popular.
So I hopped on the slime bandwagon.

The slime account OG Slimes on instagram is the originator.

To make this amazing substance, all you need is a basic white glue slime
AND THE BEST PART, DAISO SOFT CLAY.
[I am not the originator of BUTTER SLIME and this
is not my tutorial. Giving credit where credit is due!]
Lucky for me, I just so happened to be browsing my local DAISO JAPAN (but not in Japan..in Texas) when I came across a whole display of the stuff. It came in a beautiful array of colors.
Being the IDIOT that I am, all I grabbed were a couple boxes, not realizing how HARD this stuff is to come by. It's only $1.50!
They've been sold out for a couple weeks now. I can only find it on Amazon. It's expensive.
I am currently kicking myself.
BUUUUT, thankfully Joanna from the Youtube Channel Cute Life Hacks created her own original recipe without using DAISO CLAY [CLICK HERE]. It's worth a watch. Also, subscribe to her channels! [CLICK HERE] & [HERE]
She didn't ask me to share her channel, I just REALLY enjoy her content! She is soo creative and has TONS of amazing ideas. I can tell how much time and effort is put into her channel, because it really shows. So PLEASE go and support her!

I have yet to see anyone use this recipe for dinosaur sensory play, and let me tell you, it is SO relaxing! You can easily make dino tracks, fossil imprints, and stick the various accessories in place for a change of scenery.
Also, one thing that FREAKS ME OUT the most about slime is that it sticks to clothes like CRAZY. Even though it washes out, sending kids home with goop stuck to their clothes is just plain annoying to some parents.
This stuff will not easily stick to your clothes and provides endless amounts of creative entertainment for your dino-loving kiddos!

AGAIN, I want to reiterate that I am NOT the originator of the phrase "Jurassic World", ANY sort of Dinosaur sensory activity, slime, or "Butter Slime". This post is not paid, sponsored or affiliate. All credit goes to the originators. This is just how I decided to use their ideas in my classroom. Please show support to these creators!

I love this idea. We already have the pack of dinosaurs so this will be so easy to re-create. I'm always looking for fun ideas like this to keep my crazy toddler busy.
You always have the most creative ideas!!! I LOVE this!! Believe it or not, I still haven’t jumped on the slime bandwagon. I think my son will just want to eat it haha.
This looks so awesome and my son would love this! :) Thank you for sharing. I'll have to look into that clay!
My kids love dinosaur play too! I love these ideas! Lets hope I can get a few days of fun out this with summer break having just arrived!
