I have YET to try a store-bought lactation cookie I like. Why are they so dry? Why do they taste like LITERAL CARDBOARD?

AND WHY DO THEY COST SO MUCH?!

Okay, I know there are PLENTY of methods when it comes to increasing your breast milk, and I don't know about you, but I HATE power pumping

Cookies are my downfall. I love them. I FREAKING love them. Especially chocolate chip.

When stumbling upon other lactation recipes, I just could not find one that was easy to remember, or turned out JUST the way I like my cookies. So here's how I make mine:

THE MAGICAL MILK-PRODUCTION INGREDIENTS:

Oats- A great source of iron! When your body is lacking iron,

it can also inhibit milk production!

Brewer's Yeast (click here to find)

Brewer's Yeast-Not to be confused with Nutritional Yeast. This stuff is a good source of protein, B vitamins, iron, and it's magical properties are great for lactating mamas.

Flax Meal- Contains fatty acids and helps to start up production.

HERE'S A FEW TIPS:

ree

I use the paddle attachment when mixing all ingredients. I don't bother switching back and forth between wisk and paddle. Just the paddle will do!

ree

Whipping the softened butter helps to incorporate it into the sugars. That way there's no chunks of butter hangin' around.

ree

When rolling the dough to bake, DO NOT FLATTEN them! They will spread. Trust the dough!

Also, I like to add a few more chips on top. Just for good measure.

See how they're not golden? I take them out of the oven when they're JUST starting to darken on the edges. They'll look raw coming out of the oven, but when they cool...PERFECTION.

I know we don't care too much about nutrition facts, but here they are for your convenience. Ha!

I'm gonna say this ONE time 'cause I know people will ask...

These cookies will not make you lactate if you're not breastfeeding.

Sister loves them!

(Even though her facial expression says otherwise. Ha!)

ANYWHOOo. Hope you enjoy this recipe, save it for later!
